one track minded

i got an interesting text the other day from a friend. it was rosh chodesh shvat. this is what it said:
Happy rosh chodesh :) two weeks and chag labachurot
so i texted her back "what?? i have no clue what you're talking about!"
she texted me back "the freezer opens on tu bshvat. it's not a chag la'ilanot but for bachurot to get dates!"
OMG i was laughing so hard!! it was so funny...

checking my email later that day i found an email from another friend which said this:
"a few more weeks and they'll be free!" and then had this pic. how funny?
now i know some people will have a heyday with this post and come out and say how it's crazy how the boys are in the freezer... shidduch crisis... stupid thing, etc etc etc. but that's how it is so let's just "deal" with it LOL

i (personally) cannot wait! :p

LOL! :)
Forget about wearing white on tu b'av. Save it for tu b'shvat!

Very funny indeed, never heard of this Yom Tov...

And didn't understand either until reading the second paragraph...

Reminds me of a story I heard from a friend recently...

My friend went out on a date to the Ritz in Manhattan, which is a very high end hotel and lots of people date there.
So when he gave his keys to the the valet parking guy, the guy asked him why there were so mant dates tonight and if the freezer opened that day...

lol how did the valet guy know?????

I dunno how he knew..

But I do know that it is a popular dating spot.
It's the Ritz Carlton in Battery Park on 2 west St, and it has two lounges.

Yeah, tu bishvat will be a lonely night for me, as I am not in shidduchim yet. I will have to spend the night with married friends I guess...

give me a break SD! doesn't mean everybody will have a date. who knows if i will? that's not the point. there's a time and place for everything and you're not in shidduchim yet so it's not your time to find him. there are so many things you have to be thankful for, so do just that!

In response to Something Different and Tembow:

That's correct, most girls won't have a date.
Lots of guys will take these few months to filter, pick and choose only the most beautiful, smartest and richest girls.
The rest that don't have money aren't as smart or are not models are left for seconds or thirds if the "the" date doesn't work out.

I have seen first hand the perverted way plenty of "learning bochurim" talk about girls looks, be it before or after the date, descriptive accounts from head all the way down...
They also don't stop talking about money, money, and more money.....

There's more to write, I'll leave it for a different time...lol

NotaGeek-
i find that so disgusting and i can't believe most yeshiva guys are like that. i def don't want a guy a like that and all the guys my friends married are not like that so there must be a lot of exceptions

OH PLEASE! Not all guys are like that!! It is not fair to make a blanket statement about all "learning bachurim" just because you know a few (how many?) who think this way.
This is NOT the Torah way and this is not the way it is!!! There are many, many boys who know what is important in a girl and stress that this is what they want:
A girl who has good middos, is growth oriented, easy going etc...they know what is important in marriage and that is what they want.
Money - is here today, gone tomorrow and we see that verrry clearly.
Looks - it's only normal for a guy to want a girl who is pretty! (and she doesn't have to be drop dead gorgeous! I hope he doesn't want to drop dead the second he sees her for the first time - how will he live with her?! LOL)
Please, don't put a label on all "learning bachurim" so quickly. There are plenty of them who have their priorities straight and who know what they really want.

i totally agree with you, itsagift

Thanks - sorry if I sounded a bit too strong, I just don't like when people label a whole group of good people when they only know *a few* who are doing something wrong!

I remember getting that e-mail with that picture of the boys in the freezer. I got it recently and also a while ago. Maybe succos time? or Pesach? I forgot?

Also, the term freezer only applies to Lakewood boys?

And all Tu Bishvat means to me, is those dried fruits, and a song "eilan eilan, bama avarechicha..." And that 2 days before tu beshvat is my hebrew birthday. So that means February 7th.

How do you dream?

Which do you prefer?

What would you rather?

What's your favorite method of keeping in touch with friends?

Are you going to watch the Super Bowl today- and why?
